Soak it up Soaps

On a Sunday afternoon in December, I visited South Florida based entrepreneur and friend, Dusty, at her delightful online and traveling shop, Soak it up Soaps.

A Mother’s Love

Dusty started making soaps a few years ago, when her daughter began having bad reactions to soaps and chemicals. She wanted to create a safer product, but wound up finding a passion for creating soaps and natural products. Since then, her shop has grown and expanded to feature soaps, lip scrubs, bath bombs, and more.

Handmade to Perfection

Not only are her beauty products all natural, but they are vegan, cruelty free, and beautifully and artistically handcrafted to perfection. She and her fabulous business partner Rachel, have dozens of seasonal and inspired collections, such as my personal favorites, Florida Rain and Sex Bomb.

Make it Personal

I wanted to gift my friends and family with something personal, something beyond the normal coffee mug or jewelry. I gave my mom pink soaps because that’s her favorite color, Florida Rain to my best friend because she loves the outdoors, and Sex bomb to one of my coworkers because she’s a cheeky one!

Shop Small, Shop Local

I think it is important to encourage our friends and family in business endeavors, ย not only to establish and maintain relationships, but also to be an active member of the community and local economy. As the daughter of a small business owner, I know firsthand the quality that can be found in our own backyards. Soak It Up Soaps is absolutely one of those rare gems.
